CORRIGENDUM TO PARA 4.2 OF INFORMATION BULLETIN FOR DNB FINAL EXAMINATION (SUPER SPECIALTY), JUNE 2016 SESSION

 

Kind attention: DNB Final ( Direct 6 years) candidates 

Please refer to para 4.2 A & B of Information Bulletin of DNB Final examination (Super specialty), June 2016 session. Para 4.2 A & B should be read as under:

 

4.2 ELIGIBILITY 

(A) Final DNB Training (Post DNB 3 Years) 

Candidates who have undergone training as a DNB trainee at any National Board of Examinations accredited institute /medical college /hospital after having registered with NBE as a DNB trainee and are completing their 3 years of training  as DNB trainee as per the following schedule: 

Cutoff date for completion of DNB training

30thSeptember 2016       

 

            (B)       DM/MCh : Candidates who have passed the final examination leading to the award of Post Doctoral Degree from Indian Universities which are duly recognized as per provisions of Indian Medical Council Act 1956  and  DM/MCh degree has been awarded  on or before 30th April 2016 can apply for the DNB Final examination in same specialty.

 

Submission of proof of having DM/MCh degree on or before 30th April 2016 is an essential prerequisite. In case the candidate does not submit the requisite proof of DM/MCh  degree  his/ her application shall be rejected & fees forfeited.

           Candidates to ensure before applying for DNB Final examination that the post doctoral degree awarded to them is from an Indian University and is duly recognized as per Indian Medical Council (IMC) Act, 1956. 

(C)   Final Examination (Direct 6 years courses):

           Candidates who joined DNB course in Plastic surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Cardiothoracic surgery or Neuro surgery and have successfully qualified Part – I examination as direct 6 years candidates  can take Part – II (Final) Examination on completion of 5 years of DNB training subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria.

           Candidates should be completing their 5 years DNB training on or before 30th September 2016.

(D)  Part – II (Final) Examination is common for candidates of 3 years and direct 6 years DNB courses in the respective super specialties. Direct 6 years candidates appearing in DNB final examination shall be exempted from question Paper –I. They will be required to attempt question paper 2 & 3 only. Post DNB (3years) and MCh candidates will have to attempt all the three question papers 

           All candidates registered with NBE have to submit a self-attested copy of the registration letter/registration number issued by NBE with the application form for final exam. 

Request for extension in cutoff date for completion of Training for the purpose of eligibility determination for DNB final Examination shall not be considered.
